We're Mick and Karla - the husband-and-wife duo running the show at CENTRAL COAST CONCRETE GRINDING.
Together, we've built a business based on hard honest work, reliable service, and results that speak for themselves. Whether it's a garage makeover, a residential mechanical polish, floor prep, or tooling support, we take pride in delivering a solid finish every time.
When you choose us, you're dealing directly with the owners - no middlemen, just a team who truly care.
Behind every smooth, level, and polished floor is a whole lot of knowledge, experience, and hard work.
At CENTRAL COAST CONCRETE GRINDING, we don't just turn up and run a machine — we assess every surface, choose the right tooling, and plan each pass to suit the concrete type and desired finish.

At CENTRAL COAST CONCRETE GRINDING, we don't just turn up and run a machine — we assess every surface, choose the right tooling, and plan each pass to suit the concrete type and desired finish.
Mick's years of hands-on experience in grinding and polishing means he knows exactly how to get the best result, whether it's for a residential home, a retail space, or an industrial warehouse.
It's not just about removing concrete — it's about understanding it.
We invest in high-end tooling, keep our equipment in top shape, and stay across the latest techniques to ensure quality and efficiency.
Every job we take on gets our full attention , from first cut to final clean, because we know that the best work comes from real care, not cutting corners.
No two concrete floors are the same , and that's exactly why our work isn't one-size-fits-all. The condition, hardness, age, and previous treatment of the concrete all play a role in how we approach each job.

No two concrete floors are the same , and that's exactly why our work isn't one-size-fits-all. The condition, hardness, age, and previous treatment of the concrete all play a role in how we approach each job.
Some slabs are soft and dusty, others are rock-hard and need multiple heavy grinding passes. Some have high spots, glue, paint, or coatings that need removing before we can even start polishing. Others may have uneven pours, cracks, or damage that require repairs or patching.
We also consider whether the job is indoors or outdoors, residential or commercial, new or existing concrete. These details affect everything from the equipment we use to the type of tooling, the number of passes, and the final finish we can achieve.
Because of this, every quote we give is tailored to the job - not just based on square metres, but on the real work required. It's our way of making sure you're only paying for what's needed and getting the right result for your space.
Mechanically Polished Concrete - Sometimes known as MPC is the highest standard of concrete floor finishing available.
Unlike topical sealers or epoxy coatings, MPC is achieved by refining the surface of the concrete through a combination of heavy grinding, densifying, honing, and polishing.
This process physically strengthens the surface and produces a sleek, low-maintenance, and highly durable finish.
Mechanically polished concrete is created using industrial grinding machines fitted with diamond tooling.
The surface is methodically ground back to expose the desired level of aggregate (stone within the concrete), then hardened using a densifier that reacts with the concrete to strengthen it.
After that, the surface is polished through multiple stages - often up to 800 or 1500 grit - to achieve a satin, semi-gloss, or high-gloss finish.
This is not a coating.
The polish is in the concrete, not on it, which means it wont peel, flake or wear over time.

THE CONS OF MECHANICALLY POLISHED CONCRETE...
IS MPC RIGHT FOR YOU???
Mechanically polished concrete is ideal for residential homes, commercial spaces, showrooms, and even retail environments where a clean, high-end look is desired with minimal upkeep. If you're after a floor that combines style with strength - and you're willing to invest in quality — MPC is a smart long-term choice.
A Practical Concrete Flooring Option-
Grind and Seal is one of the most popular concrete floor finishes - and for good reason. It offers a clean, durable, and cost-effective solution that enhances the look of existing concrete without the extended process involved in mechanical polishing.
In a grind and seal system, we grind back the surface of the concrete to the desired level of stone exposure. Then, instead of polishing the concrete itself, we apply a topical sealer - either matte, satin, or gloss (also depends on concrete condition as to what finish sealer you may be able to have) - to protect and finish the floor.

THE CONS OF A GRIND AND SEAL ...
While still durable, it doesn't have the same lifespan or hardness as a full mechanical polish.
IS A GRIND & SEAL RIGHT FOR YOU???
A Grind and Seal may be the perfect solution if you're looking for a concrete finish that's stylish, functional, and budget-friendly. It offers a clean, modern look by grinding back the concrete to your desired level of stone exposure, then sealing it with a protective coating to enhance durability and appearance.
Grind and Seal is ideal for:
This finish delivers excellent value, but it's important to consider that the sealer does require maintenance over time. If you're after a beautiful, practical concrete floor without the higher cost of a full mechanical polish, then a Grind and Seal could be just right for your space.
Before any new flooring system can be installed or a concrete surface can be refinished, proper floor preparation is essential. At CENTRAL COAST CONCRETE GRINDING, we offer expert grinding services to remove a variety of existing surface materials and ensure a clean, even base for your next step.
